A perfect location for a North
Carolina Vacation, the Lodge is located three miles
from Highlands, North Carolina. Situated on top of Flat
Mountain, 4,300 feet into the clear mountain air where the
natural beauty of the Nantahala National Forest is a short
hike or drive from our main entrance. Fifty acres of old
growth conifer and hardwood forest surrounds you at The
Skyline Lodge. With a tranquil mill pond at our gate and
the splash of a running waterfall below the balconies on
one side and a view of the sunset in the mountains on the
other.
Rental Cabins are
also available with two or three bedrooms. All have
generous wraparound balconies from which you can
enjoy the peace of the forest and the mountain views
as well as large stone fireplaces to warm the cool
North Carolina evenings. The larger cabins also
have a Jacuzzi tub in the master bath and a hot
tub on the balcony. It is hard to find a better
place to visit for your North Carolina vacation
than The Skyline Lodge and Restaurant in Highlands!
If golfing, shopping, hiking, horseback riding,
river rafting, mountain lake fishing, canoeing and
other such activities simply seem like too much
work to undertake during your North
Carolina vacation, no problem! In and around
the lodge, you will find a lot to keep you busy.
Grab a racquet and a buddy and play tennis on one
of our two newly refurbished courts. Work on your
tan, or take a refreshing swim in our sparkling
pool followed by a warm sauna. Relax in the oversized
Jacuzzi, (make a new friend!) take a short hike
through the beautiful woods down to the river, or
simply contemplate life and nature in a comfy rocking
chair on one of our public porches.
The Skyline Lodge also hosts weddings
and banquets. There are simply no words to
describe the infinite beauty of the North Carolina
mountains. Sharing your wedding or special occasion
here among your family and friends, in this glorious
setting at this jewel of a hotel, will create a
memory to be cherished forever.
We will accommodate your guests, arrange your
reception dinner, and, if you choose, put you in
touch with local merchants for flowers, photography,
music, specialty cakes, and everything you will
need for the perfect affair. We even have a wedding
deck, facing the mountain in the distance, created
and built for the owners of the lodge who were married
in an exquisite sunset ceremony in the fall of 1999.
The setting was absolutely breathtaking and since
it's a permanent fixture now, we invite you to use
the deck if you choose to have an outdoor ceremony. |
